Despite being born to replace Google Play Music, the features of YouTube Music have so far not allowed users to enjoy the same benefits. Among the most serious deficiencies, there was, at least until today, the impossibility of reproducing one’s own contents.
If Google Play Music allowed the user to upload their music library to the cloud, to be able to access it at any time, the same was not possible with YouTube Music. Things have fortunately changed and, even if with a little delay, it is now possible to listen to one’s own music.
Thanks to the new update it is finally possible to play music even from the internal memory of the smartphone or from a microSD card, for those devices that support it. The service is currently reserved only for subscribers of the Premium service, which among other things allows music playback even when the screen is off.
At the moment Google has not created a procedure to transfer the music on Play Music to YouTube Music, but for now, it is an essential step in the right direction. You can check for an update on the Play Store using the badge below.
