WhatsApp Announces Improved Voice and Video Group Calling Features

The WhatsApp is making calls in more group practices on mobile devices. Previously, it was necessary to start a video call with one contact and insert the other participants. Now you can start calls already with multiple users, needing only a few touches on the screen.

With redesign, you can go to the group that contains the members that the user wants to invite to the calls, and then tap the icon that shows a phone in the upper right corner. In the next screen, simply select the contacts you want to include in the connection and choose whether to make a voice or video call.

Another update that comes with the update is in the Calls tab: just touch the new call icon in the upper right corner of the screen, choose the contacts to call and the call mode.

However, WhatsApp’s group call service is relatively new, launched in July 2018. Novelty is a useful tool for connecting with smaller groups such as family members, roommates or workgroups, and studies. The service also reflects concern for privacy as calls are encrypted from end to end.

The company adds that the quality of the links will depend on the internet connection of each device. The update is available to iOS users and will soon be released for Android as well.
