Over the years, there have been many rumors about a possible launch of an electric van by Tesla, but so far this has never happened. Although Tesla and Elon Musk himself made several references to a possible van, there was never any concrete evidence of a possible existence.
Elon Musk has spoken several times about the possibility of Tesla developing a “mini” bus “based on the Model X. However, this alleged van that would be used by his other company – Boring Company – was never presented.
Information leak confirms the” existence “of an electric van manufactured by Tesla
After the project to be carried out in Las Vegas, the Boring Company has already sent an application for a new project, which will connect Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario International Airport through a tunnel.
Apparently, Elon Musk's company proposal was so compelling, it didn't take the State long to abandon all the transportation alternatives that were to consider. According to the information revealed, this will be a project very similar to the one carried out in Las Vegas.
A 4.5km long tunnel will connect Rancho Cucamonga to the airport, being used to transport passengers in electric vehicles
According to Curt Hagman, the Boring Company is working in partnership with Tesla to develop an electric van that can transport up to 12 passengers and their luggage. This way, they may be able to transport up to 1, 200 people per day.
Even though no more has been revealed details about this alleged electric van, considering that the information came from a state supervisor, it looks like it will actually exist. Even so, it is also possible that this van is for the exclusive use of the Boring Company, and is not intended for commercialization.
Certainly, more information about the Tesla electric van will appear in the coming weeks.
