Outside, the column is covered with a soft cloth, allowing the music to pass freely without any distortion. Like Google Home Max with HomePod, Galaxy Home is controlled by voice commands. The column is integrated with the technologies of “smart home” and SoundSteer. SoundSteer technology means that Galaxy Home will be able to adjust the sound output depending on its position in the room.
The column has 8 microphones, 8 speakers, a subwoofer and speaker tweeters for high-quality sound and speech recognition. Galaxy Home supports Bixby and includes integration with Spotify. Spotify will also be Samsung’s new partner.
Samsung did not announce the release date and the price of Galaxy Home, but more information about the column will become known at the upcoming conference for developers.
Like Apple, Samsung made its column premium. The company presented Bixby 2.0 together with Note 9, but it is unlikely that a virtual assistant will be able to compete with Siri or Google Assistant.
