Specialized announced its new electric bicycle – the Turbo Vado SL. This is a model that stands out for weighing only 14. 9kg and has an autonomy that can reach 195 km (with optional Ranger Extender).
According to what Ian Kenny, Specialized's leader told Electrek, the new model aims to be “a combination of mobility and fitness. It represents a change, a pivot that breaks the rules of what the cycling industry is willing to assume. ”
This is a bold statement, but it can be justified with the specific characteristics of the bicycle. You are entitled to front suspension, and the tires can vary between 42 mm and 47 mm, depending on whether you use wheels 700 C or 650 B.

This Turbo Vado SL will offer you an internal battery of 320 Wh, with an impressive autonomy, of 130 kilometers. However, if you add the Range Extender sold separately, you get more 65 km total autonomy. This is completely removable, and is disguised as a drinking fountain.

Thanks to the Mission Control app, users will be able to control various aspects of the bike, such as the power of each mode. The price is not for everyone, but it will not be considered expensive considering its autonomy.
The new model is already available on the Specialized official website, with a price that starts at 2999 €. If you want to buy the Range Extender, it has an additional price of 369 €.
