Microsoft xCloud, Google Stadia's great rival, already has a release date in Portugal

Companies have been betting heavily on streaming gaming services in recent times. After the launch of Stadia or Nvidia GeForce Now, it’s time for Microsoft to join the lot.

The American company announced today that its streaming service xCloud will be officially launched on Android on day 15 September. Fortunately, Portugal will be one of the first countries to have the new service.

xCloud arrives as part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

happens with Google Stadia, xCloud will not be launched as a standalone service and with its own subscription. This service will be an integral part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which currently costs 12. 99 € per month.

The great advantage of this approach is that, with just one subscription, you will have access to your games on PC, Xbox and, from September, on any Android device. In addition, Microsoft promises more than 100 games available for your smartphone or tablet.

Users iOS will have to wait

It is Microsoft’s ambition to place xCloud on all devices, however, this is not yet possible. For now, the company has no information regarding the launch of its streaming gaming service on iOS.

Although disappointing for iPhone and iPad users, this was already predictable. Microsoft has previously stated that it faces some limitations in xCloud testing on this platform due to the restrictive policies of the App Store.
