Microsoft Completes GitHub Purchase for $ 7.5 Billion

The Microsoft completed the purchase of GitHub, after approval of officials European Commission. The deal totaled $ 7.5 billion, and the new CEO of the development platform, Nat Friedman, celebrated on his Twitter:

According to Friedman’s post, GitHub will continue to operate independently as a community, platform, and business.

For the future, Friedman sets three central goals: to ensure that GitHub is the best place for communities and productive teams; make the platform more accessible around the world and maintain its security, performance, and reliability.

Created in 2008, the source code platform already has more than 31 million users worldwide.
