Huawei demonstrated the analogies of Face ID and Animoji

Honor, a subsidiary of Chinese Huawei, yesterday announced the new flagship V10. At the presentation, the company also demonstrated some developments that it plans to use in future innovations. Among others, the technology of 3D face scanning, similar to Face ID, and animated emoticons Animoji was shown.

Huaweis 3D Face Scanning System

The image above shows the version of the recess in the display from Huawei: it is supposed to place an RGB camera, an infrared camera, a pair of RGB LED flashes, a light sensor, and a VCSEL projector. 3D scanner from Huawei in 10 seconds will create a model of the user’s face, using the data on the location of 300,000 points. The developer promises that it will be possible to unblock a smartphone with such technology in 0.4 seconds. In addition, the scanner will find another application: in particular, with its help, it will be possible to authorize payments.

Huaweis Animated Emoji

As for emoticons, Huawei reports that their development is better than Animoji because it uses more points to create animations. It is also possible to track the tongue sticking out, which will allow adding some emotions.

Most likely, both of these functions we will see in Huawei P11, which will be released next year.
