Connect AirPods to Apple Watch
If you’ve already connected your AirPods to the iPhone and want to use them with the Apple Watch to control the volume and switch songs, you don’t need to connect headphones to the Apple Watch.
If you want to leave your iPhone at home, then you need to connect the headphones directly to the smartwatch manually.
Step 1: On your Apple Watch, open Control Point.
Step 2: Click the AirPlay icon (it looks like a triangle that beeps).
Step 3: From the list, select your AirPods. You connected them to Apple Watch.
To disconnect the headphones from the smartwatch, simply remove them from the ears and put them in the case. That’s it, the process is very simple!
