HBO is an American channel that has already accustomed us to high-quality series. Game of Thrones will be perhaps one of the biggest hits of this chain that comes to an end next year. However, a spin-off may
It is already known that the eighth season of Game of Thrones will be the last of the series. Scheduled to debut sometime in 2019, this will put an end to the adventures of all the characters we’ve known over the years.
The final battle for the future of Westeros is approaching and the anxiety is increasing. No one knows what to expect from the last season of this epic HBO, since the series has proven itself, more than once, unpredictable.
However, this should not be the definitive farewell to the universe created by George RR Martin. At the moment it is speculated that there may be up to five spin-offs from this acclaimed fantasy series.
First Game of Thrones spin-off could hit HBO in 2020
However, only one of these spin-offs is closer to happening. HBO has already ordered a pilot episode for the first spin-off of Game of Thrones and will be a prequel.
Still without a definite name, the events of this new series will take place thousands of years ahead of what we saw in Game of Thrones. It will focus on the transition from the Age of Heroes to a dark period and still at the origin of the White Walkers.
This series has already confirmed as executive producers Jane Goldman and George RR Martin. In fact, the latter, the creator of all this universe, should play an active role in any spin-off that may be created.
It should be noted, however, that ordering a pilot episode does not mean that we will have a complete series. HBO may not be satisfied with the developed product and may not move forward for a full season. Let’s hope this is not the case.
But if the same advance, it is believed that its debut only happens one year after the end of the series mother. This means that if this new series goes ahead, its debut will only happen in 2020.
