The agreement was closed for 89 million euros. It is the biggest acquisition in the history of Nordisk Film, involving the three studios of the Swedish developer, whose market value is estimated at 117 million euros.
Nordisk already had a part of the Avalanche, acquired in April 2017.
Despite the purchase, Avalanche will retain creative control over its designs, and agreements with other publishers will be honoured – Square Enix’s case with Just Cause and Bethesda’s RAGE 2.
Nordisk Film is the fourth oldest film studio in the world and the oldest in business – the company was founded 111 years ago in 1906. The company is responsible for launching The Kon-Tiki Adventure in 2012.
RAGE 2, Avalanche’s next project, is set to hit E3 2018 on June 12-14 in Los Angeles, United States.
