2018 started a few days ago, but Microsoft Cortana has already been targeted by numerous news, as well as Amazon Alexa or even Google Assistant. Today, once again, it is Cortana that the article is about.
In fact, Microsoft has a hard work ahead, in the sense that its virtual assistant – which has proven to be one of the best, if not the best – has been losing interest to consumers in the present time.
It was not that those who had used it before had ceased to do so. The point is that the virtual assistant market has grown more than the Cortana itself. That is, instead of the voice of Microsoft, new users choose Google Assistant or Alexa from Amazon.
Wherever you are, Microsoft’s Cortana has a lot of potential … just like Amazon’s Alexa or Google Assistant!
Thus, the Redmond giant has already begun to make some changes to the next major version of Windows 10 – known as Redstone 4 – and, consequently, Cortana.
There were rumours they even indicated that it would be a project that was about to be put aside by Microsoft, but this was denied by the US company during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
In effect, Cortana will have a new home in the next update of Windows 10, that is, closer to the Action Center. Incidentally, depending on the settings that platform users choose based on their preferences, the virtual assistant may even be more connected to the location where all the notifications are.
On the other hand, the process will make Cortana, for PC at least, an assistant whose help will be given through writing rather than voice. After all, unlike with specialized devices such as Amazon Echo or Google Home, nobody likes to talk to a PC.
Instead, Microsoft Cortana will adopt a more classic style, based on a small conversation as if it were a chat. That is, written. In any case, these will be changes that will take some time to reach, and until then much can change.
