The Huawei again demonstrated at CES 2019, its intention of clashing with Apple in the field of computers and tablets. The devices presented by the company during the American fair focus on simplicity and reduced size, but without leaving aside the good performance and, for those who look for it, even quite robust configurations.
The main highlight of the ad leads is the MateBook 13 notebooks which, as the name implies, has a 13-inch screen and a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. The focus here is on portability, with a computer that is only 1.4 cm thick and weighs 1.2 kg, dimensions compatible with the latest version of the MacBook Air and below all that Huawei has already launched in its device family.
The cheaper version of the computer costs $ 999 and comes with integrated Intel Core i5 and GPU, while the most robust, with i7 CPU and Nvidia GeForce MX150, comes out at $ 1,299, roughly R $ 4,810 in direct conversion. Additional settings allow you to include a 512 GB hard drive, while all editions come with 8 GB of RAM and fingerprint sensor for fast unlocking of functions. The keyboard provides resistance to dirt and splashing.
The promise in portability is also reflected in the presence of a battery that promises up to 10 hours of continuous use and use of the USB-C port for fast recharging. Those who want to use the PC on a daily basis, however, can suffer from the lack of inputs, since there are only two, one on each side, plus a headphone jack. Further evidence that we are talking about a notebook to be loaded around and not fixed on a desk.
Portability is also the hallmark of the MediaPad M5 Lite, which is also the smallest tablet ever launched by the company and now comes to the Western market. The 10.1-inch screen appears next to 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal memory (expandable by micro-card) and an undisclosed processor, but it promises robustness to everyday tasks. Again, a USB-C port is available for connection of accessories and quick recharge of the battery, while the headphone jack also appears again.
Huawei also highlights the Harman Kardon certification for the four loudspeakers available on the device, a guarantee of higher quality and sound fidelity. The battery promises up to 13 hours of continuous video playback. Both the handset and the notebook announced at CES 2019 reach the international market by the end of January.
