ASUS has decided to take a serious stake in the world of Android devices for players and introduced the new ROG Phone to the world.
Equipped with very powerful hardware, this equipment will be launched in the third quarter of the year in various configurations, although the prices and the markets to which it will arrive have not yet been disclosed.
The ASUS ROG Phone is the first smartphone in the world to use a cooling system based on cameras of steam that this manufacturer decided to baptize of GameCool. In practice and as you might imagine it is intended to keep the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and other internal components at acceptable temperatures even during peak times.
ASUS ROG Phone has a 6-inch AMOLED screen with an FHD + resolution of 2,160 by 1,080 pixels. Also noteworthy is the ratio of 18: 9. The panel has a refresh rate of 90Hz and promises a response time of 1 ms. It is also worth noting that it is able to cover 108% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
ASUS revealed two variants of the ROG Phone, both with 8GB of RAM. The basic model has 128 GB of flash memory UFS 2.1, while the premium offers 512 GB of storage. Apparently, this smartphone will not support microSD cards.
It is worth mentioning the presence of a Type-C 3.1 USB port and the quick-charging (15W) support.
At the camera, level stands out an 8-megapixel front and a rear-facing dual camera configuration consisting of 12- and 8-megapixel sensors.
The stereo loudspeakers are located on the front of the ASUS ROG Phone, which is powered by a non-removable 4000 mAh battery. This equipment has the dimensions of 158.8 x 76.2 x 8.6 mm and weighs 200 grams.
The device will be launched with a custom implementation of Android Oreo and is protected by a combination of 2.5D glass and 3D Corning Gorilla Glass.
The ASUS also introduced several peripherals for this device. An example is the AeroActive Cooler, the WiGig dock that connects to an external display, the TwinView that comes with a secondary display, a 6000 mAh battery and the GameVice controller.
