Ming-chi Kuo, the most respected analyst dedicated to Apple, recently made his thesis somewhat controversial and provided to the publication macrumors . According to him, none of the new iPhone 12 will have a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The justification presented by Kuo is the concerns with the battery life of the iPhone. Still, the analyst believes that in 2021 Apple makes use of this increasingly popular and common feature in the best Android smartphones.
The iPhone range 12 will not have a screen Hz
Still according to Kuo’s predictions, the iPhone 12 with a 5.4 inch screen will have a reduced notch and narrower to better accommodate the information presented at the top. Apple wants to ensure that the text shown at the top is very readable.
The other devices in the iPhone range 12, two models with a 6.1-inch screen and a model with a 6.7-inch screen will have the traditional notch with the same width and size as the current one generation, iPhone 11. They will be similar to current devices.
Continuing to follow Kuo’s testimony, all iPhone 12 will support the 5G network standard, despite the use of both versions. That is, we rely on the use of the sub-6 Ghz and mmWave standard for new mobile phones.
In 2020 the news will be 5G, in 2021 the 120 Hz
Although we have seen some alleged iPhone prototypes 12 whose screen appeared to have a rate at 120 Hz, the trump card will be reserved for 2021. Apple then hopes to take advantage of LTPO technology with better energy efficiency for the screens.
Note that a higher refresh rate of the image on the screen, although more rewarding and more fluid aspect in animations, it leads to greater energy consumption. In other words, it produces desirable results, but demands more from the battery.
These are Kuo’s latest expectations for the iPhone range 12, also advancing that the September event will be dedicated mainly to the iPad Air which will feature a new Touch ID reader and improved design.
