Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra vs iPhone 13 Pro Max Speed Comparison

The new flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is already out and is ready to compete with Apple's iPhone 13 Pro Max. Is it good enough to overtake the iPhone 13 Pro Max with A15 Bionic processor and excellent optimization?

In some countries, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will be sold with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor instead of Samsung's own Exynos 2200 processor. The iPhone 13 line is powered by Apple's A15 Bionic processor.

The iPhone 13 Pro Max has 6GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra has up to 12GB. XEETECHCARE blogger decided to compare the speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in the Galaxy S22 Ultra with 8 GB of RAM and the A15 Bionic in the iPhone 13 Pro Max with 6 GB of RAM.

In tests on smartphones, third-party applications, games and browsers were launched. Applications tried to save in RAM for multitasking. The iPhone 13 Pro Max loaded almost all apps faster. The Galaxy S22 Ultra was faster in loading some games. However, loading in the games themselves was faster on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Even though the iPhone 13 Pro Max has less RAM, it kept all but the most expensive apps and games in RAM. Older iPhones handled this already. This is possible thanks to the excellent optimization of the A15 Bionic processor.

In games and video rendering, the iPhone 13 Pro Max also turned out to be faster. The user interfaces of both smartphones look good thanks to the 120Hz screen refresh rate. However, the iPhone 13 Pro Max performed better at multitasking as it was able to keep most of the apps in RAM. RAM usage is better on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but it can't compare to the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The iPhone has always been better than Samsung's flagships in app launch speeds. Since the iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple smartphones have not lagged behind in terms of RAM management. This is a merit of excellent optimization of Apple processors.
