The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be introduced at the beginning of next year, but much is already said about it. In fact, by now, the South Korean should have finished the development of the smartphone, so the rumors should be more constant.
Being this a top of the range we expect nothing less than the best of the Galaxy S10. After a S9 and Note 9 that brought us little in the face of their predecessors, South Korean needs to surprise their customers.
Above all, you should put a smartphone on the market with arguments that justify your purchase. One of the technologies that has been talked about for this is the fingerprint sensor under the screen. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S10 should bring a triple camera on its rear.
In addition to these technologies, Artificial Intelligence begins to be more present in the mobile market. I do not want to refer only to virtual assistants but also to other types of machine learning capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy S10 to have a processor with NPU
Here we mean the ability to recognize landscapes, intelligent allocation of resources and others. One of the first brands to provide us such was Huawei with the Kirin 970 with Neural Processing Units.
Then Apple also joined this range with its latest Apple A12 Bionic, capable of holding 5 trillion operations per second. In contrast, Samsung has not yet entered this boat. Something that is expected to change in 2019.
It seems that the next Exynos 9820 processor will finally have its own NPU. This will be the SoC to equip the international version of the future Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10.
The first clue pointing to this gets us directly from a profile on LinkedIn. This concerns a former South Korean official, in which he unequivocally refers to his involvement in the development of a new NPU core.
It should be noted that Samsung has already developed its own chip with a Neural Processing Unit, but it has not included it in the Exynos 9810. Therefore, it is without great surprises that it is speculated that a new nucleus has been developed and that this is an integral part of the new Exynos 9820 processor.
New Exynos 9820 must be comparable to Snapdragon 8150
On the other hand, it is public knowledge that South Korea uses two processors in their tops range. In addition to the international version with an Exynos SoC, we have selected markets with Snapdragon processors.
However, Samsung’s efforts to match the performance of both versions are also well known. Since the future Snapdragon 8150 is expected to have an NPU unit, it is only logical that the Exynos 9820 also has one.
Even before the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S10 we will have the presentation of the new Exynos 9820. When this happens we will know all the power that this will offer the future top of the South Korean giant.
