Let’s take a look at the 10 best selling mobile phones of all time. Notice that I say “mobile phones” and not “smartphones” because we do not have many smartphones on the list.
Certainly, because cell phones were cheaper a few years ago, or because the differences between them were so few that anyone served.
In the 2000s mobile phones were not sold for their fantastic cameras or unbelievable processor. In the “good old days” it was all about design. The cameras began to be relevant, however, the photographs were so bad that even I was afraid.
The list is packed with mobile phones well known to all. After all, we are talking about the list of 10 best selling mobile phones of all time.
These are the 10 best selling mobile phones of all time
Honestly, I do not think the list will change much in the future. Smartphones are getting more expensive and you need to get a really impressive device to get back to numbers how much these phones had.
10. Motorola V3: +130 million sold (2004)
I had one of these and I should not have been the only one. The phone arrived in Portugal at the hands of Vodafone and was an immediate success. That feeling of “flip” … uffff you miss!
9. Nokia 2600 – +135 million sold (2004)
Believe it or not I also had one of these. This was, incidentally, I can tell you that it was the terminal that my grandfather offered me on his birthday. It did not last long in my pocket because I ended up buying a better one a few months later. At the time this was the “low range” of mobile phones.
8. Samsung E1100 – +150 million sold (2009)
Is it my impression or do I still see many people with this phone? At the time that I worked at TMN we gave one of these to all the new Sapo and MEO customers. I lost count of how many I sold. No wonder he’s in eighth place.
7. Nokia 5230 – +150 million sold (2009)
This Nokia 5230 never had it but I always wanted it. This phone was the real change of terminals of the Finnish company. It’s just a shame it did not go on much longer.
6. Nokia 6600 – +150 million sold (2003)
How much I loved this outfit. At the time I was riding with this Nokia 6600 and the Motorola E1000. He was not sure which one he liked better because they were both fantastic. A pity to have fallen in the water.
5. Nokia 1200 – +150 million sold (2007)
This Nokia 1200 I still see today on the street. Most of them have the phone’s detachable keyboard. A piece of hardware that has not yet materialized but has sold for its low price.
4. Nokia 3210 – +150 million sold (1999)
How missed the original Snake game. It was hours and hours playing in this 3210. My upgrade to 3330 left me longing to ride with a “big” cell phone.
3. iPhone 6 and 6 Plus – +220 million sold (2014)
The only smartphone on the list is here. And be aware that we need to join the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models. It is an impressive number. The iPhone 6 is still one of Apple’s most used and for good reason. Incidentally, even released in 2014 still has software updates today. To praise!
2. Nokia 1110 – +250 million sold (2005)
This was one of the few I’ve ever had in my pocket. The Nokia 1110 had world-wide success and got a respectable number 2. There, the phone hangs with the end of the world was cheap. Recipe for success.
1. Nokia 1100 – + 250 million sold (2003)
Already more than 15 years that this mobile phone has been launched. Believe it or not, last week I saw him in the hands of an old man. The battery that lasts for weeks and a simple phone arrives to conquer anyone who does not want to live in the technological world.
Of the top 10 most popular mobile phones of all time 7 of them are from Nokia. It is a pity the brand has taken a different path and not embraced technological developments.
The company seems to have learned and is entering the market with willpower. By the way, the European company will unveil its top of the range soon. It does not seem to me that you will be able to sell so much to enter this list, however, it will be a top notch to have consideration.
