Samsung Galaxy S10 and LG G8 will be two Android tops of which much talk in 2019. They will be two of the main devices of each of these South Korean technology. Two models that may well escape the fashion of notch.
The notch, popularized by the Apple iPhone X, can be nicknamed by a design imperfection. A necessary evil for the accommodation of some essential components to the operation of any smartphone.
In it we usually see the handset, front camera and sensors of the equipment in question. As long as the technology does not offer another alternative for your accommodation, and thanks to the reduced margins of the screens, we can get stuck with the beloved notch.
However, alternatives begin to emerge gradually, which shows us that the market wants something without notch. The new Vivo NEX already offers us an almost end-to-end screen without this “imperfection”.
Samsung Galaxy S10 and LG G8 can offer screens with innovative technology
Also Samsung did not surrender in the fashion of notch but with margins more than the above-mentioned example. However, technology is already looking to a future with lower margins and without a notch.
The South Korean company is already perfecting a new type of screen that allows the sound to be propagated by it. Something that we can equate to the technology employed in the revolutionary Xiaomi Mi Mix.
However, the sound reproduced by the new screen of the Samsung Display will be of much more quality than the one of the Xiaomi Mi Mix. This new screen propagates the sound through vibrations at a frequency of 100 – 800Hz. This means that the sound will only be audible when you bring your ear closer to the smartphone screen.
According to the ET News publication, this will be a 6.2-inch OLED screen. Indeed, we can not ignore the possibility of seeing it already in the next Samsung Galaxy S10.
Also LG will be developing a similar technology. In this case we have sources connected to the industry to say that it may arrive next year. Scheduling that puts it in line with the next top of the range for 2019, the LG G8.
With this type of screen, it would be left to the companies to solve the allocation of the remaining components that I have already mentioned. The luminosity sensors could be perfectly accommodated in a very small physical space.
The big obstacle continues in the front camera of the equipment. The new Vivo NEX already offers us a bold solution to this problem, but it remains to see the question of the durability of the pop-up mechanisms used for this purpose.
